In your role as (Senior) Staff Engineer (m/f/d) you will play a key role in the engineering of our cutting-edge quick grocery commerce platform working and leading a cross-functional team structure across one of Flink’s domains.

Job Description

  • Lead and mentor the team with tech roadmaps, architecture decisions, and service development and release-cycle across Flink’s back office, warehouse, and rider tech

  • Drive and play a significant part in the discussions and sprint planning of new features

  • Closely collaborate across other domain teams to deliver value to the end-user in a global context

  • Drive the backend chapter towards adapting and experimenting with new technologies

  • Contribute to scaling up the backend team and bringing great talents onboard by conducting interviews and code pairing sessions

  • Owning and developing the roadmap of your domain E2E working closely with the counterpart on the Fullstack and Frontend chapters

  • Our Tech stack that you will be exposed to in this back-end role is Golang, Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes and PostgreSQL.

Qualifications

  • Senior, Staff and/or Lead Experience building scalable and reliable applications

  • Open-minded personality, comfortable working in an Agile environment and making high-level decisions as well as effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams

  • Strong fundamentals in backend engineering with Golang, working on complex distributed systems

  • Comfortable with event-based communication between microservices

  • Experience using cloud provider platforms like GCP or AWS, and deploying distributed services to Kubernetes. (Terraform knowledge is nice to have).

  • Experience in driving code quality through unit testing, pair programming and/or mentoring engineers

  • Proficient in applying best practice Design patterns and Design principles when building your software.

  • Researching and staying up to date with the latest trends and technologies

  • Business professional English
